Be Your Own Hero
Someone told me in order to know yourself even more, create an inventory of your traits, your qualities, your weaknesses, and follies. Out of this list, you will be able to extract a fair assessment of how well you know yourself.
It wasn’t until I went through a deep heartbreak and grief that I took on this initial task for self-awareness. Then I realized how much I have abandoned myself for the fleeting moment of pleasing others. We all want to belong. To something and to someone. When all has been stripped away from us, and all that’s left is yourself standing, who are you?
That’s a hard question to answer when I was younger, still searching for the person that I am. In the midst of my inner chaos, I wondered how to navigate my way out of that darkness. Most of the time though, we don’t realize the strength we have until we face up to obstacles. I took a lot of time to inner resolve, to self reflect, and develop self-awareness. Here are some tips to help us evolve around becoming our own hero.
Take ownership of your choices.
However painful, however ill-thought those choices were, however dirty it might have been. Own your part and acknowledge those choices that helped get you there. This is a good start to bring you to make better choices to bring you to a better place.
