After a busy week of mobilizing my small fundraiser supporting our forest defenders, a friend brought up Meares Island where she said was home to The Hanging Garden — believed to be the oldest and tallest yellow cedar on Vancouver Island. At the height of everything that is happening, my heart feels drawn to visit the island.
