Songs in the Key of Love

Love, oh love such a sweet, heavy, profound, all-encompassing and so many more meanings to it. You come in many forms. You’re too beautiful to hold and too precious to let go. When all else meets their edges, only you remain fluid and eternal. And why is that? Because you are the source from where everything comes. Imagine love expressed in arts, music, movements, connections, and flow. Imagine love as a way of life. How wonderful that would be!

In my universe, music is just one of the ways that connect me deeply to my soul. Not just me but humans in general, we put into music the most intense longings of our souls and our deepest regrets. No, I am not a musician. Nor am I an expert in playing any instrument. I know a few guitar chords, am definitely a neophyte harmonicist, drums — courtesy of my drumming circle and extremely slow at reading musical notes. My exposure to music stemmed from my mom being the musical director at our local church. At home, I hear her hum hymns, melodies, and other songs all throughout the years I was living with them. When she plays the piano, I tease her enough to dance in exaggeration to her music. Those moments were always bathed in laughter and she dismisses me to rescind the distraction. I think that music has also contributed to my perceived happy disposition and engagement with life in general.

What is fun? A playful connective flow
