Dandelions at Kinsol Trestle. Photo by author.

A dandelion flower is a vibrant yellow weed. With its yellow petals, a hollow stem, they grow in rosette formation. Its leaves are toothed resembling the jagged edge of a lion’s tooth where it actually got its name, French “dent de lion”, meaning lion’s tooth.
