Victoria’s Chinatown

The Gate of Harmonious Interest is a symbolic entrance to Chinatown as described by waymarking.com. As you pass the gate, this tiny Chinatown invites exploration. Strolling further, my feet brought me to the stretch of Fisgard Street.

Gate of Harmonious Interest

Then I noticed a narrow alley that seemed to pull me inside. Surprisingly, it revealed several shops from shirts to vintage record items, soaps, pieces of jewelry, a furniture shop, a yoga studio, chocolates and several more. Alleys are interesting as you will never know what to expect. At the entrance of the Alley is a pole that carried its name: Fan Tan Alley. The entrance is about three to six feet wide in my rough estimation. It is billed as the narrowest street in North America.
